Ordering Pizza Versus Eating at a Pizza Restaurant

Dining in or Taking Out: Why Eating at a Pizza Restaurant is So Much Better

Ordering our pies to go is alright from time to time. Everyone does it, and it’s completely acceptable, not to mention totally satisfying being able to eat pizza from the comfort of your own home. Although ordering pizza is a great way to eat when you’re not up for leaving your house or apartment, there are several reasons why you should ditch the delivery, and dine out at your local pizza restaurant next time.

Better Variety

With eating out comes more variety and a greater willingness to try new things. Servers are there to make suggestions, and there will be more on the menu than just pizza, such as pastas, appetizers, salads, and desserts that you probably wouldn’t have ordered otherwise. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a filling meal, dining in is the way to go.

More Socializing

Everyone deserves time out of a busy week to sit down for a full, relaxing meal with family and friends. Try a pizza restaurant in a new location, sit down for a long meal and take the time to do nothing but eat and enjoy each other’s company. As they say in Italy, “La Dolce Far Niente” or the sweetness of doing nothing.

Straight Out of the Oven

When you order pizza to go, it usually takes about 40 minutes or longer to arrive. This time can seem endless when you’re hungry! If you’re one of the impatient types, eating at the pizza restaurant gives you a delicious, fresh, hot pie much sooner. While you’re waiting, you can enjoy the company of your peers, have a drink or two, and soak up the restaurant’s atmosphere.

Wine Lists

Most wine connoisseurs already know, but many pizza or Italian restaurants offer extensive menus of wine. If you’ve come across a restaurant like this, take full advantage—most of the time the waitress will be more than happy to pour you a little taste from the bottle before you commit. You definitely won’t get all of this at home.

Get Served

Every once and awhile, it’s okay to enjoy a meal served by no one other than your waiter or waitress. Let someone else run and get your ranch dressing for a change. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy your pizza.

Drinks, Drinks, Drinks

Your local pizza joint can be a great place to grab a group of friends and have a drink. Ditch the home-stirred cocktails for a night and treat yourself to something at the bar before, after, or during your meal.

Zero Clean Up

The best part about eating out at a pizza restaurant is the fact that you don’t have to clean up afterwards. Kiss your dishwasher goodbye for the night because you can just push the plate away and head on out. Plus, if you ordered too much food, you can still take home the leftovers to have for lunch tomorrow. Talk about a win-win situation.
